Different backgrounds

Three Journeys. One Vision.

GFX Thailand is an international freight forwarding and logistics company headquartered in Bangkok.

The company was founded by three logistics professionals from very different career paths, united by one shared belief: freight forwarding can be done differently.

Together, our founders bring extensive experience from international airlines, global logistics multinationals, strategic mid-sized organisations and established local freight forwarders. Throughout their careers, their paths crossed many times, as colleagues, customers, partners and industry collaborators.

Long before GFX existed, those shared experiences had already created something invaluable: mutual trust, professional respect and a proven ability to work together.

The founders

Three careers, one company

Different industries, different disciplines, and a working relationship that predates the business.

  • David Grant, Managing Director at Grand Freight X

    David Grant

    Managing Director

David brings 38 years of logistics experience, including 25 years based in Asia, and is a permanent resident of Thailand.

His career spans international freight forwarding, air cargo and integrated express logistics, with extensive leadership experience across P&L management, operations, sales and business transformation. He has led the restructuring and development of forwarding businesses while building international networks across independent and multinational organisations.

Actively involved in international freight-forwarding networks since 1988, David has spent much of his career developing overseas agency business across every continent. He has also played a key role in numerous joint-venture initiatives and collaborative international sales campaigns.

Around 15 years ago, David pioneered the introduction of live airfreight rates to the co-load market. The concept evolved from an internal pricing tool developed a decade earlier and was transformed into a customer-facing solution that made airfreight pricing faster, more transparent and more accessible.

He has also designed and implemented CRM platforms, freight management solutions and dynamic pricing systems, combining deep industry knowledge with a strong focus on technology, efficiency and commercial performance.

    Jirath Thitisakulthamrong

    Chief Commercial & Operating Officer

Jirath brings more than a decade of airline experience, with his entire career focused on commercial and sales roles across air cargo and freight forwarding.

His airline background gives GFX valuable insight into carrier pricing, capacity allocation and the commercial factors that determine whether a booking is secured or lost. He later expanded this expertise through senior commercial roles with multinational freight-forwarding organisations in Thailand.

Today, Jirath leads the commercial and operational functions of GFX, combining strong carrier relationships, competitive freight procurement and a clear understanding of customer requirements to deliver commercially effective and dependable logistics solutions.

How it started

We expected to build steadily

When the three founders decided to bring their experience together, the plan was to grow GFX carefully and methodically. What happened next exceeded expectations.

During its first three months, GFX outgrew its original premises and signed for a new office three times larger. Following a three-month renovation, the company will relocate to its new headquarters on 1 January 2027, just six months after launching.

GFX also established its own airport operation in Bangkok, with its Eastern Seaboard office scheduled to open on 1 October, exactly three months after the company launched.

None of this formed part of the original short-term plan, but it quickly reinforced something the founders had learned throughout their careers: logistics is built on trust and reputation.

When experienced people from very different backgrounds respect one another’s strengths, and combine established relationships with a common purpose, something genuinely special can happen.

Ed-Hoc

Technology makes us faster. Our people make the solution work.

Our approach is simple: make freight easier to understand, quicker to quote and easier to manage.

Supporting that is Ed-Hoc, our combination of technology, automation and logistics expertise. It helps us process information faster, compare options and come back with clear, practical freight solutions.

Technology helps us move faster, but every solution is reviewed and managed by experienced logistics professionals.

People first

We invest in people and remove complexity

Technology helps us work faster and communicate better. It does not replace relationships.

  • People at the centre

We invest in our team and keep the people who quote your shipment close to the people who run it.

  • International standards

Operating discipline and reporting that an overseas partner can work with directly.

  • Thai heart

The warmth, flexibility and service mentality of Thai culture, applied to freight.

  • Complexity removed

We listen, we collaborate and we respond quickly, then look for ways to improve the supply chain rather than simply sell freight.

Thailand gateway

Thailand and the Greater Mekong, connected

From Bangkok, Laem Chabang and Phuket we connect Thailand and the Greater Mekong region with key markets across Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Our gateway and transhipment capabilities give partners flexible routing options, supported by blocked space agreements on key international trade lanes. Our value is knowing how to use that position: which gateway suits which cargo, where a cross-border move beats a transhipment, and how to keep a shipment compliant as it crosses borders.

Freight forwarding. Problem solving.

As global trade changes, so will we: new solutions, new technology and supply-chain concepts built for a faster, more connected world. We are only getting started.
